Jay Townley - Founder

 

Jay Townley is completing his 47th year in the bicycle industry. He started as an employee in a bike shop in 1957; worked for the Schwinn Bicycle Company for 24 years as Sales Promotion Manager, Director of Product Safety and Governmental Affairs, Assistant to the President, Vice President Marketing, and Vice President Purchasing. Townley owned and operated Venture Out Unlimited, a bicycle touring company; and served as President of Giant Bicycle Inc., as President and a Director of Browning Bicycle Component, LLC, and as Executive Director of The Bicycle Council a (non-profit) bicycle industry marketing association.

Currently Townley manages Jay Townley & Associates, LLC (JT&A) a business services group that includes The Bike Shop List, a marketing and mailing list specializing in the bicycle dealer channel of trade. JT&A is the North American sales and marketing representative for Body Scanning CRM, a client relationship marketing system that is marketed and sold exclusively to bicycle dealers, and is the database manager and marketing and sales representative for the NBDA Retail Data Capture program. Townley contributes articles to the NBDA newsletter and is a frequent speaker at industry trade shows and special events.

 

 

Elliot Gluskin - Head of Research


 

Elliot Gluskin is completing his 22nd year in the research industry. He started in the research field learning tabulation, coding, and questionnaire design for a Manhattan, NY-based research company. Gluskin then spent eleven years working in the research departments of major publishing companies including the McCall's Publishing Company, Playboy Enterprises, and the Meredith Corporation. In the early 1990's, Gluskin joined Rodale Inc. as Research Manager for Bicycling Magazine. In 1999, Gluskin was promoted to Research Director of the Rodale Cycling Group encompassing Bicycling and Mountain Bike magazines as well as the affiliated web sites. Gluskin is best known as the project manager of the only two major market studies on the U.S. cycling market - the "Cycling Consumer of the '90s" study conducted in 1991 and the "Cycling Consumer of the New Millennium" study conducted in 2001.

Related activities include being a Past President of the Media Research Directors Association, being a frequent speaker at industry trade shows and strategic planning meetings, and being a quoted source on the cycling consumer in major newspapers and magazines.Currently, Gluskin acts as a private consultant for a number of companies in the bicycling industry.

 

Russell Wright - Marketing and E-marketing

 

 

Russell Wright is a Search Engine Marketing Auditor and is the inventor of a proprietary keyword reporting software. This system was designed to unveil the unique keyword fingerprint of your website that will generally assist you in dominating your niche at a high level.

Before entering into the search engine industry Russell had ten years of television advertising, sales and direct response marketing experience. His television experience includes editing and producing several well known infomercials and bringing them to market in the United States. He has consulted with fortune 1000 companies including Corporate Express, TV media creative and Gaiam Inc. Russell went online in 1999, recognizing the Internet as new global marketing medium. In 2002 he immersed himself in the study of online marketing and formalized his education as a search engine analyst in 2003. Russell has studied directly with search engine experts including Bruce Clay.

Russell is a keynote speaker on topics related to search engines, e-marketing, direct response marketing and business-to-web integration.

 

Ramona Melvin- Marketing Coordinator

Ramona Melvin spent 15 years in the sports and fitness industry. She was spokesperson for DuPont Activewear Fibers, Cybex Excercise Equipment, Pony Shoes, Danskin Women's Apparel and other well known brands. She wrote excercise training programs that were published in magazines such as "Self" and "Women's Sport and Fitness".

Besides appearing in several sport related television and video productions,  Ramona created the elite personal  training program for the Equinox health clubs of NYC. Customizing and creating consumer-centric awareness for many products in the Wellness Industry highlights her expertise as our marketing coordinator.
